The Crypto Price Converter extension is designed to run locally within your browser. 
- **No Personal Data:** We do not collect names, emails, browsing history, product preferences, or any personally identifiable information.
- **No Tracking:** We do not use cookies, analytics tools (like Google Analytics), or any background tracking software to monitor your behavior on Amazon or any other website.
- **Local Storage:** The extension uses Chrome's `chrome.storage.local` API exclusively to save your UI preferences (such as which coins to display) and to cache cryptocurrency exchange rates temporarily. This data never leaves your device.

## 2. Host Permissions
To function correctly, the extension requests host permissions for Amazon domains (e.g., `*://*.amazon.com/*`). 
- This permission is strictly used to inject our content script into the page so it can read the visible fiat price on your screen and append the corresponding cryptocurrency badge next to it.
- **We do not read, transmit, or record any other content** from the Amazon pages you visit.

## 3. External API Usage
The extension makes asynchronous background requests to the public **CoinGecko API** to fetch real-time cryptocurrency exchange rates.
- When fetching these rates, the extension does not send any of your personal data, Amazon browsing data, or unique identifiers to CoinGecko. The request is solely to retrieve current market prices.

## 4. Third-Party Links
Our extension does not contain links to third-party websites, nor does it inject affiliate links into the pages you browse. 

## 5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If any significant changes are made, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
